Lockport police issued an arrest warrant on Friday for Joseph Cagnina, 43, following a criminal complaint filed in Will County court on Wednesday. The warrant seeks Cagnina's arrest on charges of unauthorized video recording of a teenager.

According to police, the incident was originally reported to the department in August. A woman contacted officers after discovering that Cagnina had recorded her 16-year-old child. The footage captured the teen entering and exiting a shower. Police stated that the videos were taken outside the victim's home.

The department confirmed that the recordings were made without the victim's knowledge or consent. Police noted that Cagnina is known to both the victim and her mother. He is a resident of Lockport. Will County court documents confirm the filing of the criminal complaint on Wednesday.

As of Friday, Cagnina did not appear to be in custody, according to the Will County Jail log. The police department secured the warrant after reviewing the evidence from the August report. The case involves a private residence in the Homer Glen-Lockport area. No other details were released by the department.

The complaint lists Cagnina as the primary suspect in the unauthorized recording. The victim is 16 years old. The mother of the victim discovered the videos. Police are working to locate Cagnina for arrest based on the new warrant. The incident occurred outside the home where the teen lived.
