Upper 60s Highs Expected as November Cools Central Alabama
A dry break precedes potential rainfall Tuesday night, followed by a second cold front bringing upper 60s highs and 40s lows by the weekend.

High temperatures will reach the upper 60s by the end of the week in Central Alabama, marking a sharp drop from the mid-70s expected early in the period. This cooling trend follows a brief window of dry weather scheduled to begin Monday morning, after which a new weather system will approach the region from the west.
The immediate forecast calls for mostly dry conditions on Monday with a mix of clouds and sunshine. Highs are projected to hit the mid-70s that day. Tuesday will bring another pleasant afternoon with similar temperatures before the atmosphere begins to change in the late evening hours.
Rain and storms are forecast to move into western Alabama counties as early as Tuesday night. Winds are expected to pick up ahead of this system, with gusts possible between 20 and 30 miles per hour. The line of showers and storms will continue spreading across the state overnight into Wednesday, with the heaviest activity potentially lingering in northwestern counties.
Meteorologists note that the overall severe weather threat remains low, though isolated thunderstorms are not completely ruled out. The speed of the moving system will determine the intensity of the rainfall, as slower movement could allow heavier rain to persist in specific areas. Showers should conclude by Wednesday evening, with only a few lingering isolated events possible by early Thursday.
A second cold front is expected to move through the region on Friday, bringing cooler air from the southeast. This frontal passage appears to be dry but will significantly lower temperatures for the weekend. Highs will fall back to the upper 60s, while overnight lows will dip into the low to mid-40s.
Sunday evening temperatures had already settled into the upper 50s and low 60s under mostly cloudy skies. The transition to Standard Time on Sunday morning shifted the sunset time to approximately 4:55 p.m., shortening the daylight hours for the region. The November weather pattern thus far has featured persistent cloud cover and scattered showers, with the heaviest rain initially staying north of the Central Alabama area.
