Cheshire residents will decide on five bond questions totaling $6.7 million on Tuesday.

Voters can cast their ballots from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at their regular polling places or at Town Hall on 84 S. Main St. The election coincides with the state election. The town clerk's explanatory text details the specific uses for each bond. One question allocates $1.1 million for a replacement salt shed at the Public Works garage. Another proposes $2.35 million for a general road improvement program.

A third question seeks $1.375 million to reconstruct Dickerman Road. A fourth bond would use $1 million to purchase land for recreation, open space, conservation, education, or municipal use. The final question requests $875,000 for safety and drainage work at the Cheshire High School loading dock. The estimated yearly cost for an average-valued home ranges from $5.17 to $13.63 per question over a 20-year period.

Town panels also convene during the week. The Town Beautification Committee meets at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4, in Room 207/209 of Town Hall. The group will review a ground sign for GTA at 330 S. Main St. The committee will also discuss the Bartlem Park Native Plant Enhancement Project. A representative from Cheshire Trees is listed on the agenda under communications.

The Youth and Human Services Committee holds a meeting at 5 p.m. on Wednesday in Room 207. Representatives from the Connecticut Council on Problem Gambling and MCCA will provide an overview of gambling in the state. They will cover current trends, risks, and efforts to promote responsible play. The committee will also receive updates from the Human Services department.

The Veterans Advisory Committee meets twice this week at 6 p.m. in Room 207/209. Sessions are scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 3, and Thursday, Nov. 5. No agenda had been posted as of Friday. The Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission meets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday in Council Chambers. Its agenda also had not been posted as of Friday.
