Dakota Davis, a 25-year-old corporal with the Prattville Police Department, died after a motorcycle crash in Autauga County. His wife and father described the accident as a freak occurrence with no other parties involved.

Davis was recently married. His wife, Chloe Greiner-Davis, said the couple had been married for two and a half weeks before the crash. She described waiting for him to walk through the door after the accident.

“I’m waiting for him to walk through the doors,” Greiner-Davis said.

According to family members, motorcycles were a long-time passion for Davis. He began riding as a child. Greiner-Davis recalled her initial concern about his choice of vehicle, noting that other drivers often did not know how to handle the road.

“I was so upset that he got a motorcycle, but I knew it was his calling,” she said. “My biggest thing was you could be the best driver on this planet, but other people just don’t know how to drive.”

Paul Davis, the father of the deceased, described his son as an outgoing young man who spoke sparingly but meant every word. He said Dakota found purpose in his role protecting the public and loved playing sports.

“A man of few words, and he meant what he said. Deep into the heart. He didn’t say it unless he meant it,” Paul Davis said. “Very outgoing young man, but a man of few words. You know, he loved his family, loved playing sports.”
