Levite Jewish Community Center appoints Lane Estes as chief administrative officer

The Levite Jewish Community Center has named Lane Estes as its new chief administrative officer. In this position, Estes will oversee the center's administrative operations, strategic initiatives, and organizational infrastructure. He will also manage teams across the organization.

Estes previously spent more than 25 years in senior administration roles at Birmingham-Southern College. He served most recently as the college's vice president for administration and chief operating officer. Following the college's closure, Estes managed the transition of the campus to the U.S. Coast Guard.

Brooke Bowles, the CEO of the Levite Jewish Community Center, said Estes' leadership experience and dedication to Birmingham make him a valuable addition to the executive team. Bowles noted that his expertise in managing complex operations will help strengthen the center's mission as it serves members and the community.

Estes is a 2013 graduate of Leadership Birmingham. He currently serves on the boards of Bush Hills Connections and the Homewood Library Foundation. He has also previously served on the boards of the Homewood City Schools Foundation and Camp Fire USA. His personal connection to the center began when his children attended the Early Childhood Learning Center.

Estes said he is honored to join the organization, which has long served as a hub for recreation, education, and culture in Birmingham. He described the center as a familiar place of belonging due to his family's history with the Early Childhood Learning Center. Estes plans to work closely with staff, the board, and the community to support the center's operations.
