The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Utah Jazz 110-105 on Monday, extending their winning streak to four games. This marks only the second time in franchise history that the team has won four straight games to start a season. Ty Jerome scored eight of his 15 points in the final six minutes to seal the victory.

With 11.6 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, Jerome made two free throws to put the game out of reach. Before that, Jaylen Wells sank two free throws with 41 seconds left to give Memphis a 108-105 lead. The Grizzlies had not trailed after taking the lead midway through the first quarter.

Utah’s Keyonte George led all scorers with 26 points. Ace Bailey contributed 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Mo Bamba added 14 points and seven rebounds from the bench. Bamba’s shot with 1:01 remaining trimmed the Jazz deficit to one point, but Memphis responded to close the game.

The Jazz lost two starters to injury in the first half. Lauri Markkanen injured his right wrist early in the first quarter and did not return. Jaren Jackson Jr., a former Grizzlies star, injured his right knee in the second quarter and also left the game. Utah rallied late in the fourth quarter to cut the lead to one point on two occasions.

Memphis built a 15-point lead of 45-30 in the second quarter, driven by Jerami Grant’s long-range shooting. Grant scored 13 points for the Grizzlies, including two three-pointers early in the second quarter. Utah cut the deficit to six points at halftime, with George holding 17 points at the break.

The game tightened in the third quarter. George hit a three-point play early in the period to cut the Grizzlies lead to one point, making the score 58-57. Memphis retook control late in the third, extending their lead to 10 points at 76-66 after a driving dunk by Quinten Post. Post also converted an in-bounds lob to give Memphis a 13-point lead entering the final period.

Cedric Coward finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds for Memphis. Cam Boozer also scored 13 points. The Grizzlies controlled the second half, allowing Utah only brief rallies before pulling away to secure their fourth consecutive win.
