The city of Concord in New Hampshire will host Halloween celebrations on two separate dates this year. The village of Penacook hosts its event on Friday, Oct. 30, while the remaining parts of the city celebrate on Saturday, Oct. 31.
Trick-or-treating is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on both nights. The city has designated four distinct areas for traffic closures to manage pedestrian safety during the festivities.
In Penacook, Amy Way, Ty Lane, Kyle Road, Sonoma Lane, and Emily Way will be closed to vehicles from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday. These restrictions ensure a safe environment for the early evening gathering in the village.
For the main city event on Saturday, Oakmont Drive, Fox Cross Circle, and Checkerberry Lane will close from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Additionally, Auburn Street between Centre and Franklin streets will be inaccessible from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
A larger group of streets will also see traffic stoppage from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday. These include Wilson Avenue, Norwich Street, Middlebury Street, New Castle Street, Rolinda Avenue, Fernock Street, Ledge Circle, and Conant Drive.
Drivers in Concord should plan their routes around these specific time windows. The split schedule allows residents in different parts of the city to participate without overlapping travel conflicts.
