Prime Video Adds Four Cast Members to Young Sherlock Season 2

Prime Video has added Sophie Skelton, Indira Varma, Olivia Williams and Aidan Gillen to the cast of Young Sherlock for its second season. The four actors join in recurring roles as production proceeds on the mystery series.

Hero Fiennes Tiffin returns as the young Sherlock Holmes, with Dónal Finn again playing James Moriarty. Prime Video has not released character details for the newly announced cast members.

Returning players include Zine Tseng, Joseph Fiennes, Max Irons, Natascha McElhone and Colin Firth. Guy Ritchie, who directed the opening episodes of Season 1, will direct the Season 2 premiere. Matthew Parkhill continues as creator and showrunner.

The series draws on Andy Lane's Young Sherlock Holmes novels and is set during the character's late teenage years. Season 1 followed a 19-year-old Sherlock through a murder investigation at Oxford, where he worked alongside Moriarty while uncovering a conspiracy. Amazon MGM Studios renewed the drama earlier this year after the first season's release.

The show is produced by Guy Ritchie. A premiere date for Season 2 has not been announced.
