A white 2008 Ford F-350 was found abandoned early Tuesday morning in Marion, Illinois, ending a search for the vehicle that a fugitive stole while fleeing a Tennessee prison.
Jacob Allen Morley, 28, has been serving a life sentence at the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville, Tennessee. Staff confirmed at 11:30 p.m. on Sunday that Morley was missing. Security cameras captured him breaching the perimeter fence while still wearing his prison uniform.
Around 1 a.m. on Monday, Morley was recorded on video stealing the truck, which was marked “Lindamood Planting Company” and carried an air compressor in the bed. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation reported the vehicle was left in Marion on Tuesday.
Authorities have added Morley to the Tennessee Most Wanted list. He has been convicted of first-degree murder, aggravated burglary, tampering with evidence, evading arrest, and vandalism. Officials warn that he should be considered dangerous and that the public should not attempt to apprehend him.
Morley is described as 6 feet tall or slightly under, weighing between 240 and 270 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. A reward of up to $2,500 is available for information leading to his arrest.
